Usebenza

Usebenza Assessment Centre is a comprehensive occupational therapy assessment centre, the only of its kind in the country to offer unique opportunities within the following pillars of activities:

• Use of facilities (space and equipment) to clinical therapists
• Research in work assessment and rehabilitation 
  
• Teaching and learning for undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Continuous professional development for clinical occupational therapists.

Physical space and equipment consist of seven consultation rooms, an extensive range of test equipment (including formal and informal instruments) and a driving simulator to assess clients of all ages and backgrounds for medico-legal, insurance, schooling and employment purposes.  Usebenza is currently managed by an administrative assistant, Ms Nicole Sass, and a lecturer from the Division of Occupational Therapy, Mrs Munira Hoosain.
